Since our launch in 2020, CHU4UHC has been at the forefront of community health innovation in Kenya. We are currently piloting our major activities in ten counties: Kwale, Nyeri, Migori, Kisumu, Kajiado, Laikipia, Makueni, Tharaka Nithi, Nakuru, and Nairobi. These pilot projects are crucial for refining our strategies and ensuring that our initiatives are effective and scalable. The insights gained will inform community health programming across the entire country, bringing us closer to our goal of universal health coverage for all Kenyans.
CHU4UHC is proudly owned and led by the Ministry of Health through the Division of Community Health (DCH). This government-led approach ensures that our efforts align with national health priorities and have the support needed for long-term success. Financial backing from the Johnson and Johnson Center for Health Worker Innovation and The Elma Philanthropies allows us to pursue ambitious goals and make a meaningful impact across the country.
At CHU4UHC, we are dedicated to enhancing community health across Kenya through a strategic and multi-faceted approach. Our work focuses on key areas that are essential for building a robust and sustainable community health system. Below are our core implementation activities that drive our mission forward:
